ROVOS RAIL

South Africa

Your journey begins at Rovos Rail Station in Pretoria, where you’ll board the beautifully restored train and settle into the charm of a bygone era. Over three or four nights, travel 1,400km through landscapes steeped in history and natural wonder. Pass through Warmbaths (Bela-Bela), famed for its mineral springs, and Nylstroom (Modimolle), named by the Voortrekkers who believed its north-flowing river was the source of the Nile. Cross the Tropic of Capricorn and the Limpopo River into Zimbabwe, heading towards the vibrant city of Bulawayo.

On the four-night journey, enjoy an excursion to Matobo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for ancient rock art, dramatic granite hills, and the resting place of Cecil John Rhodes. Continue along one of the world’s longest stretches of straight railway track before venturing through Hwange National Park for a memorable game drive.
